FAQ ABOUT CANADA HILL CRAFTS
WHAT ARE THE FLOWERS MADE OF?
The wood flowers are made mainly from a Cassava plant, which when dried can be used to make tapioca.
DO YOU MAKE ALL OF THE FLOWERS?
We make some of the flowers, but not all of them. The flowers we do purchase are purchased from small businesses like ourselves. Each flower is individually hand dyed (usually twice - a day apart), stemmed and then arranged. We try to use all natural dried products for filler for the arrangements.
ARE THE FLOWERS SCENTED?
The flowers come unscented, but upon request we can scent them for you with an essential oil or you can scent them when you get them home.
DO THE FLOWERS FADE?
The flowers will fade quicker if in direct sunlight, but you can always refresh them with a little paint yourself if this happens over time.
HOW DO I CLEAN THEM?
We find the best way to clean them is with a little canned air at a distance, so as not to damage the petals or a light feather (or similar type item) dusting.
WHAT DO I DO IF A PETAL BREAKS?
You can always repair a flower by going over the petal edges with a similar color. The petals, like a real flower, are delicate and imperfect, but that only adds to their beauty.
WHY DO YOU MAKE SOY CANDLE?
Soy candles tend to last longer (30-50%) and are derived from a vegetable versus petroleum, so they have a cooler, cleaner burn. As well, soy wax is 100% biodegradable and paraffin is not.
DO THE CANDLE FRAGRANCES CONTAIN PHTHALATES?
We use phthalate free fragrances to scent our candles.
